Quote# 9904

I believe that some people can't believe in God because they can't. This is part of my worldview that God created everything in what is called theistic evolution. IOTW's God created all of the animals, and in what we call animals are beings that look like us but don't have the necessary component of a soul. This theory of mine explains who Cain's wife is. In short, there are people ( who I wouldn't call human) that are just as smart as us, because they have to be. It's a survival instinct. They just can't believe in God, because a it doesn't occur to them to, like dogs or cats...

Quote# 9864

Mardi Gras is nothing but a drunken orgy in a city full of black magic, voodoo, and other kinds of witchcraft and satanism. After the city was all but destroyed last year, the news media is reporting on the return of Mardi Gras as some sort of beautiful symbol of the city's rebirth. Talk about sick! All I can think of is Sodom and Gomorrah.

Speaking strictly from an emotional standpoint, my heart is just broken for those deceived souls down there.

['my friend wants to go to church really, really bad, but her mom won't let her because she thinks all things that involve God is bad.']

try inviting her 2 youth group tell her that you play games talk and stuff like that but leave out the kpart about god, that what i do and it works

['Doesn't that amount to deception?']

not really because u do do all of those things at yg ur just not teling them all of it if u want to call it that go ahead but it might be the only way to get the friend there

['There is such a thing as "lying by omission". deception is the only way to get someone to go to a Christian youth group. Nice. Please tell me you see the irony in that.']

ya i do but do u see any other way to get that friend their?

Larry Kilgore, one Republican candidate for governor of Texas:

Question 1: Please describe the training and experience that qualify you for this office.
"I read the Bible, praise the Lord, listen to good preaching, study history and ask God for wisdom."

Question 2: How do you propose to resolve the problems with school finance that have many school districts at or near the maximum rate of taxation?
"The support for Government schools (public schools) will collapse just like the support for Marxism collapsed in the East. It’ll probably happen in a Big Whoosh, just like the fall of the Berlin Wall. When this occurs government will no longer need to steal money from the taxpayers to fund the pubic school money pit."

Question 3: What measures do you support for border protection and immigration enforcement?
"The immigration problem fundamentally is a welfare state problem. Some illegal immigrants, certainly not all, receive housing subsidies, food stamps, free medical care, free school and other forms of welfare. Once the freebies are gone freeloaders will not come. Anyone that crosses our border illegally should receive a minimum of five lashes, $3000 fine and deportation."

Question 4: What is the role of the governor in disaster planning, particularly in planning for and executing the efficient evacuation of one or more of our large population centers due to a disaster?
"War is the disaster that we need to be most prepared for. Our citizens need to be well armed. Volunteer militia organizations and sheriffs’ need to work with the Texas National Guard to prepare for conventional, biological, chemical and nuclear attack scenarios. Our war plans will serve as natural disaster evacuation plans also."

But let's face it, if Heather has two mommies, she's gonna git an overdose of sleeveless flannel button-downs and a lesson on Harley engines.

If Jacob has two daddies, he's gonna get a leg up(no pun intended) on the magical use of pallettes and color samples along with some killer fashion tips.

The problem will be the smell, as always. In the first scenario the house will smell like rancid deviled eggs, half-digested, on the afterburner.

And with the two boyfriends, it will smell like egg yolks and brown stuff or like a hair salon, inhaling 'the perm kit' while you puke into your Cheerios.

In either case, the kid will have to wear a protective mask to ward off all the particulates, fecal and non.

If I have any Moslem living next door to me, radical or non-radical, I will have pig barbecue and beer at least once a week. Moslems are cult people and nothing more than that, peaceful or psychos. Anybody wishes to argue or discuss that, it's your opinion, same as it's mine. (evil emoticon)

[On this study out of UCLA with more evidence that homosexuality is genetic.]
oh wow. a small study is going to change my beliefs. i don't think so.

pray tell, what exactly are you trying to prove? because bibically, homosexuality is a sin just as other sins, and since we are inherently born into this world as sinful people, this really should just be more proof that God does in fact exist.

Quote# 9878

Similarly, many single people love their dogs dearly, in the same way we love our husbands or wives. They shower gifts upon their dogs, take care of them when they are ill, and may even ask the vet to allow them "visitation rights" when their beloved dog is in the hospital. Usually the "dogophobic" vet will deny them that "right", however.

And their dogs love their owner dearly, showering licks upon their owner's face, protect them when threatened.

Fortunately, most of them have no desire to bring their private bedroom activity into the public arena.

Depth of love doesn't establish the "right to marry", you see.

[On using sex education proactively to reduce the number of unwanted pregnancies, thereby reducing the need for abortions]

I am all for anything that does not contradict the teachings of God and Church. As long as sex ed is approved by parents and does not include the teaching or acceptance of sex outside of marriage or the use of artificial contraception or abortion then I am okay with it.
