The couple of times I've visited national cemetaries, I personally found it extremely comforting to see the symbol of the cross, a symbol of salvation and love and victory, in such a place. I know not everyone shares my view, but I think it would've taken away from it immensely to see a satanic symbol that represents death and defeat and suffering on such hallowed ground. I have the priviledge of having the choice of being buried in a national cemetary or my family's cemetary when I die and the thought of my family have to see a satanic symbol on the headstone next to mine for years and years to come makes me much more inclined to want to be buried in my family's cemetary.
