If scientist [A] has sacrificed his time, money, and energy to make observations in thename of science, I call that worship. And wehn he posts his findings for the world to see, I call that praise.

you see? worship the mind, then praise the mind.

when we worship God, we are emotionally effected by His glory and respond in emotional praise. This is why we exist ... not to think, but to worship.

[You're kidding, right?
The image of God, Imago Dei has nothing to do with our physical makeup. [...] I personally don't believe we evolved from apes or a common ancestor that apes and human share. Nonetheless, please don't use this argument against evolution in the future.]

Man you are too funny;I can and will use this argument in the future. Do you know what "in His image" clearly means? We look like our maker. In that case, unless our maker evolved from originally being a monkey,we have His image.

Pagans havebeen persecuted like every group at some point in history.

But Pagans were never persecuted by Chritsians.
Only by Catholics and protestants in the USA.

There is a difference between Catholics , protestants, and Christian you know that right??

Please people, this is a serious matter.

Would you really want to spend eternity in a lake of fire with gays, transsexuals, jews, and other miscreants?

Ha, didn't think so.

You don't have to if you come to Jesus and ask him to save you. There is no reason for anyone to spend eternity in hell when salvation is completely free.

I was taught secular humanism, and almost every other religion under the sun. However, Christ is not allowed in our public schools.

I was exposed to pornography, open sexual acts, drugs, alcohol, etc.

Fundamentalism was ridiculed by the staff of my high school.

I was taught, as a matter of fact, the lies of evolution in many classes - not just biology.

I was forced to read near pornographic 'novels' and study Greek mythology in literature classes

Etc, etc.

In short, I was exposed to everthing except Christ in my state run high school.

by it's own theory and definition evolution is a species changing due to environmental factors into another species.

ie: a frog became a bird etc....it never happens animals live or die, this is natural law which is not evolution.

a false never proven theory.

perfect example: Horse shoe crab. it's called the "living fossil" for a reason. it has never changed in millions of years. so if this animal has never been challenged in its enviromental niche, one i believe it was created for, why would it ever change into something else? there is no need to change.

another example: Hummingbird. there is no bird like it in the animal kingdom. if the hummingbird has no challengers in its enviro niche. so why would any other birds need to "evolve" if that critter has no need to change? why would a bird get bigger or smaller? it wouldn't and never has and never will.

perfect in its enviro niche the way it was created.

big bang may very well be the "Beginning" when God started this universe billions of years ago. I don't think it has anything to do with a random occurence.

Yes, Chemical laws do not allow evolution of chemicals. Evolution is not supported by chemical laws. Chemical laws were established long before Darwin proposed his theory of Evolution. Yes, chemical composition of the reproductive mechanisms are very well known. The fact is these chemical are not synthesized by nature. Even if we know all the information, nature does not self synthesize chemicals.

My third child (Alex), is 14 years old and lately I have begun to notice that his actions seem to be immoral. What im trying to say, is that me and my husband think our son is gay. Our belief that he is gay stems from something that happened two days ago. When our son was coming out of the bathroom from going number two, I noticed that he had an erection. I asked him why he had an erection (he knows what it is) and he said "i dont know, it always happens when I poop". He had an erection from the pleasure of having fecal waste come out of his rectum, the same as how a gay mans gets one from a penis being in his rectum.

Is my son gay? How do I fix this problem? Therapist? Homeschooling? I plan on making him go to church more now

I don’t think the question is whether Jesus is violent or peaceful, or whether Allah is violent or peaceful. The question is whether Christians are commanded to be violent or not, and I think we all know the answer...

The Great Commandments are to love your neighbor as yourself and love the Lord with all our heart, mind, soul and strength. I wish there were more Christian extremists, who take the words of Jesus literally, and act them out on a daily basis.

However, no one hopes for more Muslim extremists. No one hopes for more Muslims to take the Koran literally.

Thanks,
Bill

p.s. Jesus has the right to be violent, because the universe is His posession, and He can do with it as He wishes, including killing people, and sending them to hell.

This is true. There was light before the sun, moon and stars existed.

As for the light from stars which are millions or billions of light-years away, I don't know how God did it, but then I do not know how he can count the hairs on everyone's head (though, looking at my head, that task is getting easier (IMG:style_emoticons/default/detective2.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) ). My limited imagination can only imagine that he created the light in place.

You have to admit that completely destroying two cities or creating everything that exists in six days is a pretty significant feat.

Sure, God could have done either in an instant, but instead, I think He wanted to show us, to a degree, what He could do. He could have made it so that Sodom and Gomorrah never existed, and no one knew anything of it. But instead, he allowed them the free will to choose their sin, then he destroyed them for their sin. By doing this, God demonstrated His sovereignty and His power. Ultimately, God got the glory out of it.

how can the truth be hollow bro.. Forreal, if my son were gay id tell him the same thing. but regardless, if it even were my child that was that kids age and he told me that, and committed suicide because i didnt accept him. that jus proves my point about gays wanting attention and if they dont get it stuff like this happens. but if a child is old enough to make decisions about his sexuality then he has to hold himself accountable for his decisions. Im sorry if thats harsh but im going thru something similar at this moment.

It doesn't get any plainer than..."The evening and the morning was the first day"

If the sun was out for a few billion years, and then the night was a few billion years....it would be kinda hard to sustain life of any kind that way....huh?(IMG:http://www.teens-4-christ.org/board/style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

God created the world in 6 literal days....evening and the morning constituted each day. There is no way around that if you believe that the Bible is the inherrant word of God. You can't try to incorporate a theory without changing what God said....and changing what God says is heresy.

God says what He means and He means what He says. If there had been a gap of time, God would have told us in the Bible. The problem here is that people want to believe man rather than God. Man who wasn't there and didn't make anything as opposed to God who was there and did make it.

KJV onlyists are wrong. Sheol and Hades are not Hell. Sheol and Hades are the place of timeless unawares where people wait to be resurrected from.

Lazarus was in the good side of hades, which is paradise below (in contrast to paradise above) and will be resurrected at the end of the Tribulation at the start of the 7th trumpet.

In the bad side of hades is the rich man who will be resurrected a thousand years after Lazarus, to be judged at Great White Throne and cast into hell for all eternity.

That is where 99%+ of people at fstdt are going, especially its owner.

I was envolved in Chi-Kung for years prior to becoming a Christian.
I saw some pretty mindblowing feats of matrix-like supernatural strength and motion in teachers that were very skilled (effortlessly moving cars, throwing people across the room with soft hits, etc.) that were definitely relying on a source outside of their own physical being.

I wouldn't say martial arts is a 'cult' . Though it forms more of a New Age Eastern meditational spirituality in some.
With all the talk of absorbing and harnessing chi, or 'energy', at some point it clicks in a Christian that you're allowing your soul to be open and have entrypoints to some dark spirits.

Prior to being delivered from a spirit of witchcraft I let in through my meditation, I could 'harness power' to effortlessly stay awake for days on end that came in handy when I needed to be productive.

Though I don't think we can completely destroy the benefits of martial arts. You can be envolved in the martial arts as long as you steer clear of the pagan Eastern religion practices.

Watch out, parents!, June 7, 2001
Reviewer: A reader
Parents beware and caretakers beware! This is a book highly endorsed by Planned Parenthood, geared for 10-year-olds?? The contents of this book should be considered "taking the rights of parents and giving them to Planned Parenthood and liberal activitists." There is no way a 10-year-old should know about homosexuality, abortion, promiscuity, condoms, erections, and injestion of semen. If a 10-year-old is asking questions about injestion of semen, they should be referred for child abuse counseling. If this book is in your schools, get it out. If you're afraid of Joe Camel for influencing your kids on smoking, you should be terrified of this book for your kids for "acceptable" sexual behavior.

1) Only God determines what is murder and what is the taking of live. God is the giver of life and he alone can take it at His will. We cannot place our moral system on him and say that anytime to take a life is wrong. We cant do that. He decides if someone should die.
So these instances where God condmened murder shows us that there is justice by not letting wanton killing occur. But when He allows killing to take place by ordering it, it is also justice.

Why will gay marriage set the table for polygamy? Because there is no place to stop once that Rubicon has been crossed. Historically, the definition of marriage has rested on a bedrock of tradition, legal precedent, theology and the overwhelming support of the people.

After the introduction of marriage between homosexuals, however, it will be supported by nothing more substantial than the opinion of a single judge or by a black-robed panel of justices. After they have done their wretched work, the family will consist of little more than someone's interpretation of "rights."

Given that unstable legal climate, it is certain that some self-possessed judge, somewhere, will soon rule that three men and one woman can marry. Or five and two, or four and four. Who will be able to deny them that right? The guarantee is implied, we will be told, by the Constitution. Those who disagree will continue to be seen as hate-mongers and bigots. (Indeed, those charges are already being leveled against those of us who espouse biblical values!) How about group marriage, or marriage between relatives, or marriage between adults and children? How about marriage between a man and his donkey? Anything allegedly linked to "civil rights" will be doable. The legal underpinnings for marriage will have been destroyed.

(responding to a question on why scientific studies show prayers don't work)

it's not too hard to imagine why...

God would know that they're just doing it to test His existence. God likely doesn't want His presence known (assuming He exists), so he wouldn't provide evidence for His existence, and wouldn't answer someone's prayer, even if it was sincere.

p.s. i have had prayers work.
