[Re: someone reading Norse mythology]

I would be concerned. It is good be doesn't believe in it.
The Norse Mythology twists scripture (not always a "fable") and speaks of a group of peoples who escaped the Gen. flood on a boat, and these people were of the god Odin, a norse god.

Get him into true scripture and have some laughs at the comical norse tomten/trolls and drawings.

The universal flood and the Ark of Noah cause problems for you because you deny the Word of God and choose not to exercise faith in God.

Why does 2+2=4? Who knows. It just does. How did God assemble all the animals and feed them? Well, God knows, but then again, He's God. There are a number of possible explanations, but listing them would be pure speculation. The simple fact is that you have chosen to not believe in the written account of history.

I get it. A big ball of matter and energy exploded billions of years ago (no one has a clue where the matter came from) to somehow form a perfectly functional planet. There was a big swamp or some crap (don't know where the swamp came from either) and life began by random chance (against all astronomical odds.) Then somehow over more billions of years and survival of the fittest, the most simple life form (which really isn't simple at all, making a pretty big hole in your little theory) eventually morphed into different species by accident or mutation and those species morphed into other species and the species all split to form new species, and that's how the world is so populous. I get the basic concept.

[In response to: Why do people think Obama is a muslim?]

Most Americans are fairly intelligent. But, I believe facts speak for themselves. If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck....Barack Obama is a member of the Trinity church who's mantra is "blacks" not God and loving your neighbor. Their allegence is with Africa..as is Oprah Winfreys. Why didn't she build schools in America for black children????? Their leader/pastor has given a prestigious award to Louis Farrakan who represent the Nation of Islam and openly hates JEWS. This is where the contrast was drawn. He professes to be a Christian...but beware of wolves in sheeps clothing. Will we be able to identify the Anti-Christ??

Every time I deal with "evolutionists," I am given links to the works of others. Why? Because the vast majority of people who claim the "truths" of evolution cannot themselves produce one fact that they themselves have witnessed. They rely totally on the studies of others. Prove the so-called truths of evolution and the "pseudoscience" of Creationism, MRiedl. Prove in your own words through your own research that evolution is true!

If you take the word of others who have done the actual research, then YOU are operating on faith. I, on the other hand, who can do my own research by simply studying the functions of my own magnificent body and can walk out the door into nature and research the evidences for creation found in the animal and plant kingdom alone, do not have to rely on the teachings of scientists. It's all right there in front of me to accept or reject!

I question religion all the time. Religion is man made ideas and traditions based on what they think God wants us to do.
However, having Gods word at my finger tips, I don't need to ask "what if" I just need to read. The answers are there, He said they were.

Sorry but those who don't have the Holy Spirit and refuse to become Christians have no other option but to be pharmaceutically lobotmized and live with the side-effects of their mdeication which as I said, in some cases are worse than the medication! So "I'll pray for you" is not enough. Being born again is the only sure cure to the illnesses of the mind. Doctors certainly can't know what a delusion is until they first know what the truth is. And the truth is not that humans created the universe, apes bred human beings and man is infallible. So once again, a fallible mind cannot cure fallibility.

Quote# 34721

Secular psychology is no different than going to witch doctors. The theories of psychologists are no different than the theories of scientists. They put people in categories, label them, and give them pills like witches gave people herbs and potions.

The only solution to the human condition is Jesus. Human nature trying to fix human nature is the blind leading the blind. A fallible human being cannot fix the fallible human being. Only the truh sets us free. When we admit out envy, greed, lust, anger, sloth, pride, glutony, and other sin, Jesus replaces them with love and forgiveness and we are truly free.

I can't count the people who have been messed up by psychiatrists and psychologists. For example, so many people have been misdiagnosed as bipolar because psychiatrists have pills for that, so they are pharmaceutically lobotmized and have to remain dependant on those drugs for the rest of their lives and those drugs still don't alleviate all of their symptoms! In fact, in some cases, they create side-effects that are worse than the symptoms they had before they took the drugs! One of the biggest ironies is that some of the side-effects of anti-depressant medications cause people to commit suicide!

So wll we need is Christ.

I'm a Physics major at the University of Arkansas, and I first obtained your series of video tapes through our local ABS campus ministry. As a future member of the scientific community, I found it quite overwhelming to stand up for my faith in front of such vehement professors and students totally sold on evolution, but I've found that I can have the knowledge to counter them. I've been challenged to learn as much about that as my other studies. I have also seen my two dearest friends come to be bold about their faith as well.

[In a discussion on the lack of effectiveness of prayer when faced with tornadoes]

Jesus didn't tell us to call directly on him. He said to call on his father in his name. That's why he refers to himself as the mediator between himself and God.

1 Timothy 2:5
For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

So technically, those prayers mentioned on this thread were being directed at the Son while the Son tells us clearly to direct our prayers to his Father in his name. A simple basic teaching-among a host of others-which mysteriously appears to be beyond the comprehension of most who claim to have accurate knowledge.

[Remember that, kids. If you're dumb enough to call the wrong number when calling for help, you deserve to die by tornado.]

Humans are WAY too complex to have been made by evolution.

Also, if they had started off dumb, they would've all died.

Animals are guided by a nonhuman trait: instinct. That's how they evolve: by learning how to adapt.

Humans have always? had intelligence guide them, not instinct.

But anyways, if evolution was true for humans, then scientists would still support it, instead of trying to cover up their theories, for fear of looking stupid.

Roman Catholic priest James Haley asserts "that homosexual priests, not solely pedophiles, are at the root of the sexual-abuse crisis. The Catholic priesthood is demoralized, he says, by groups of homosexual clerics who control who gets admitted to seminary, which men get nominated for bishop and which priests get the plum parishes.

Quote# 34695

The Internet has opened the gates of Hell into homes of the average person. Pornography in specific is so evil that words cannot describe. Pornography has infected the minds of men and has infiltrated the Occult/Witchcraft without people even knowing it. Pornography is a form of witchcraft and occult. Men in specific are targeted and the grand design of satan is to destroy the souls of men and their families with this evil. This was not even possible 15 yrs ago! The decay this has caused men and young men is frightening. Non christians have no conviction about this, it has been normalized and it causes men to hate their wives and replace it with a fantasy that is perverted. ALL christian households that have internet access should have strong internet filtering technology. It shocks me to learn that most Christian men do not take this proactive approach to protect their souls and families against porn coming into their homes This alone is a sign that Christ is coming in our generation, and very soon.

Homosexuality: Much has been written about this already. All I will add is that this movement is the same that destroyed Sodom. Our country is quickly becoming like europe or canada. The things that are normal today would be unthinkable 20 yrs ago!

(on speaking in church)

I have mixed feelings about this. I'm all for a woman singing in church (I do). I'm not even against a woman saying amen in church. But, when it gets to the point that she is over-bearing her husband, and not being of a meek and quiet spirit, then I think it can get excessive. Maybe I have just had a bad expierence with this topic.
My church is very exciting with lots of amens and shouting. But, there was a lady in our church that was literally shouting and "out-shouting" the men while her husband was sitting on the end of the pew looking bored. Obviously she is the spiritual leader in the home. If not, it sure appeared that way.

I've got this guy's book, "Forbidden Archeology" and it's amazing how much data is buried by the scientific community -- they only accept what fits their pre-conceived paradigm.

To me, this shows that the rock dating system is flawed. The idea that modern-type humans with intelligent brains could have lived on this earth for millions of years is hard to believe. I do not believe, for example that it would take humans millions of years to figure out how to read, write, be artistic or grow crops in a field. These things showed up several thousand years ago, which is probably not too long after their creation.

[In response to the question: What about the fish? I would think that they stayed in water, and weren't taken onto the ark, but sea fish need saltwater, freshwater fish need freshwater, and when the flood came, all the water would have mixed, and become brakish. Very few fish can survive this.]

This can probably be described in many ways, but one way it would work is that salt water is more dense then fresh water, so when they are mixed the salt water sinks to the bottom, and the fresh water stays on top. So when the flood happened, the bottom half of the earth was salt water, and the top half was fresh water. I am sure many fish died, but enough of them survived by staying in their type of water(top or bottom) to reproduce after the flood.

Kids will be kids. You put ideas into their heads through this so-called "education" [gay and lesbian awarness] and they will experiment without regard to consequences. Schools are starting to "teach" sexual behaviors before many children even reach puberty. Kids at an early age of 10 are very impressionable and haven't honed the skills necessary to make responsible decisions.
