Islam allegedly forbids Muslims from playing musical instruments like guitar, piano or trumpets as they go against the hadiths, a religious scholar said today.

In his paper on Islam and entertainment presented at a national forum here, Abdul Raof Nurin said the Shafie stream of Islam only allows Muslims to listen to music that touches on love for the religion, and urged those who want to play musical instruments to preferably stick to the gong or kompang.

He added that the Shafie school, however, will make an exception for the "gabus", a stringed instrument similar to the guitar, only if they are played according to Islamic laws.

"To listen to music that has nothing to do with religion that includes instruments that is prohibited in Islam, coupled with concerts that allow mixed socialisation, this distracts you from praying.

"Majority of ulama forbid the use of musical instruments except for those drummed like the kompang, percussions even those with bells," he said.

The forum was organised by the Malaysian Muslim Consumer Group (PPIM) and the Human Development and Investigation Bureau.

Professor at the National Art and Heritage Academy (Aswara) Datuk Baharudin Ahmad, however, said the instruments alone are not “haram” or forbidden, but the sounds they make are, since they are often used to play music that encourages immoral activities like free mingling of the genders.

"Instruments like the trumpet, the trumpet is not a problem, the sound that comes out of it [is]," Baharudin told the forum.

Both the scholars in their presentations said entertainment in Malaysia is too influenced by the West, which often insert messages of total freedom and blind consumerism.

As example, Abdul Raof cited the many singing competitions, which he said provided for lucrative awards.

He said such events inculcate materialism among the young.

"Entertainment today is about ringgit and materialism. That is why today we see humans racing to elevate their economic status, add more materials and collect more money".

The Muslim religious scholar added the high suicide rates in the west proved the detriments of such lifestyle.

"We just look at the experiences of those who have gone through this. In the US and other rich countries many of those with wealth, stature, smart have committed suicide," he added.

Baharuddin on the other hand said materialistic entertainment was so ingrained in today's society that households spend a huge chunk of their salaries on entertainment like football jerseys and branded clothings.

"Such indulgence have made household spending imbalanced," he said.

Baharuddin said much of the blame goes to "low quality" urbanisation, and urged the government to help promote a more "traditional life".

Hardline Islamic groups have long called for Putrajaya to rein in its entertainment industry, claiming it was too western-centric.

However, other civil rights advocates said such demands underscored the creeping Islamisation in Malaysia and has tarnished its moderate image, affecting investments and driving the country's young away.

At the end of the exorcism, the teenager was pinned down as her elder sister cut both her eyes out, it is alleged.

The horrific attack happened in the town of General Pinedo, in the north Argentine province of Chaco.

Police have arrested the older sister, who claims the local pastor ordered her to remove her siblings’s eyes in order to help drive out the evil things her sister was seeing.

The older girl said the devil was gaining access to her sister through her visions, and it was believed that because demons are terrified of pain, the act would drive out the devil.

It is understood officers are about to arrest a group of men suspected of taking part in the bizarre ritual and alleged rape.

The victim has been in the intensive care unit of the Perrando de Resistencia hospital where she was transferred to be treated for her terrible injuries.

Police commissioner Pablo Almiron said that the parents of the girl also believed she was possessed by the devil, and said she kept seeing animals like goats that were not there, and they had asked the evangelic centre and its pastor to help them "cure her".

He said: "It is the first time in 22 years of my career in the police to have an event of this nature.

"The prosecutor has also said that it is the first time in his life. It is very difficult to explain that something like this could happen to a teenager."

The older sister claimed that the religious centre , who provided her with a sharp knife, said that she must be the person to remove the eyes of her sister in order to cure her.

The prophecies that are fulfilled continue to this day and not just the ones that concern The Messiah . Not even the best computers in the world could manufacture and or compose such a book of 66 books that works together so well together and fit so precisely. How in the world do you get men from different centuries from several countries and languages to all conspire together to produce something that they knew was not true. The fact is that God inspired The Scriptures and used men to do it . No humans alone would be able to produce these Scriptures . You ignore these facts to your own destruction. Instead , realize that the prophecies that were and are true concerning all being fulfilled by The LORD Jesus Christ , are also true that speak of the judgement of hell upon all those that reject The Gospel .

Answer: Deuteronomy 22:28-29 is often pointed to by atheists, skeptics, and other Bible attackers as evidence that the Bible is backwards, cruel, and misogynist, and therefore, not the Word of God. At first glance, this passage seems to command that a rape victim must marry her rapist. Is that the correct interpretation of the text, and if so, how is that not horribly unfair to the woman? This issue is actually addressed in two passages, both of which are below:

Deuteronomy 22:28-29 “If a man meets a virgin who is not betrothed, and seizes her and lies with her, and they are found, then the man who lay with her shall give to the father of the young woman fifty shekels of silver, and she shall be his wife, because he has violated her. He may not divorce her all his days."

Exodus 22:16-17 “If a man seduces a virgin who is not betrothed and lies with her, he shall give the bride price for her and make her his wife. If her father utterly refuses to give her to him, he shall pay money equal to the bride price for virgins."

Together, these passages clearly state that if a man has sex with a virgin who is not betrothed (regardless of whether or not it was rape or consensual) he is obliged to marry her. He should have sought her father's permission first, negotiated a bride-price, and taken her as his wife. Because he did not, he is punished for this—he now must pay up (he can't opt out any more) and marry her (which could be a major punishment in itself if this was a foolish, spur-of-the-moment act and she really wasn't the right woman for him!).

Also note that "he may not divorce her all his days" – this initially doesn't seem significant but is actually a major punishment. Deuteronomy 24:1-4 (restated more clearly in Matthew 5:32 and 19:9) allowed for divorce, but only in the case of sexual immorality (the word "uncleanness" refers to this and was translated as such in the LXX). This man now may not divorce his wife even for this reason, but is obliged to continue to support her all his life whatever she does.

But her father is ultimately in authority over her, as her head, until he hands this authority over to her husband. If the man is unsuitable, the father can refuse to give his daughter to him. How many fathers would give their daughter to a rapist? Not many. So, in general, a rapist would actually have to pay a 50 silver shekel fine to her father, and not get a wife at all.

The answer to the question is in Exodus 22:17 - the woman does NOT have to marry a rapist, she must only do what her father says.

Note that throughout the Old Testament no rape victim is ever recorded as being forced to marry a rapist. However it is plausible that there could be circumstances in which a father would choose to have his daughter marry a rapist. In 2 Samuel 13, Amnon, a son of David, rapes his half-sister, Tamar. Tamar was not forced to marry Amnon. Interestingly, though, Tamar seemed to have wanted to marry Amnon after the rape (2 Samuel 13:13-16). Why would she desire such a thing? In that culture, virginity was highly prized. It would have been very difficult for a woman who was not a virgin, and especially a woman who had been raped, to find a man to marry her. It seems that Tamar would have rather married Amnon than live desolate and single the rest of her life, which is what happened to her (2 Samuel 13:20). So Deuteronomy 22:28-29 could be viewed as merciful to the woman, who, because of the rape, would be considered unmarriageable. In that culture, a woman without a husband would have a very difficult time providing for herself. Unmarried women often had no choice but to sell themselves into slavery or prostitution just to survive. This is why the passage leaves marriage to the discretion of the father, because every situation is different, and it is better to be flexible than have a blanket rule.

Also note that the penalty for having sex with an unbetrothed virgin is completely different from the penalty for sex with a married or betrothed woman. Sex with a married or betrothed woman is adultery and was to be punished by the death of both if consensual, or the death of the man if it was rape (Deuteronomy 22:22-27).

The secular portion of America is pushing for "tolerance" while persecuting the religious freedom of Christians. To ignore the cries of persecution will force America to remain in darkness. Robison points to the words of Hebrews to back up his point.

"If we go on sinning willfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a terrifying expectation of judgment and the fury of a fire which will consume the adversaries," he says. "It is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God."

However, the evangelist says there is a silver lining in the midst of all the chaos: The revelation of the nation's wrongdoings could bring about revival.

"In the face of coming judgment and desolation, Jesus wept over Jerusalem and extended the invitation to return to His shelter as chicks rushing to the wings of a hen," Robison says. "There is still time, but time is running out."

He's not the only one believing a revival could be borne out of the revelation of sin.

Michael Snyder, the publisher of The Economic Collapse Blog and author of The Beginning of the End, says the "great shaking" of the coming Shemitah could allow America to open its eyes to the need for God.

But if America doesn't repent from its sin, judgment will come, Robison says.

Robison's garnered several responses for his comments, especially regarding abortion.

"Over 50 million babies have already been sacrificed to the God of convenience in our beloved country since Roe v. Wade," one commenter writes. "When I recognize we have already lost that whole generation, I consider the worse fate (where God now says Amen to our choices) is truly terrifying ... Revive us Oh God!"

This assumes I would put the legal burden solely on the mother. In the hypothetical scenario in which I was in the position to decide punishments for abortion, the mother (and father, if he was a party to it) would face fines, but the person who willingly and knowingly performed the procedure would face fines, felony prison time, and the revocation of any active medical licenses. They are both the enablers and the active party in abortion, and the greater share of legal and moral responsibility rests on their shoulders.

Hakim said that most of the National Iraqi Alliance parliamentarians have signed the draft law, while most representatives of the Sunni National Forces Union and the Kurdistan Alliance refrained from signing.

Hakim justified the bill by stating, “Most problems youths face today are caused by surfing porn sites.” He added that pornographic sites have led to a 200% increase in divorce rates and a 50% decrease in marriage and contributed to the rise of sexual crimes, including rape and sexual harassment.

However, Hakim’s statement is based on mere speculation and not on scientific studies. In the same statement, he also invoked numerous other social problems to justify the bill, including early marriage, high unemployment and poverty rates and violence against women. It is worth mentioning that in 2014, Iraq came in last on a list of statistics issued by Pornhub, the largest pornography website on the Internet, which ranked the average amount of time spent on the site by visitors according to country.

Blocking pornographic sites is ineffective, as circumvention techniques are widely available to the public. For instance, the same Pornhub statistics showed that visitors from Iran and Saudi Arabia spend more time on the site than Iraqis, even though these states' religious regimes ban pornographic websites. Visitors in Iran registered an average of 7 minutes and 46 seconds per visit, while those in Saudi Arabia registered 8 minutes 23 seconds.

The announcement of the bill stirred controversy in Iraq. Some Iraqis welcomed the proposal and created a Facebook page to support the bill, while others believe it is an attempt to impose religious laws on the country and a preliminary step to gradually bring religious rule to Iraq, especially considering the bill was submitted at the initiative of Islamist members of parliament and justified from religious perspectives.

I just think it's such a bad thing for a girl to do. and I also think it's a symptom of this generation where people feel and think they can take the easy way out and that they don't have to work or struggle to get anything in life. it's all quite depressing. Sofia should've said no to her doing this, maiming and scarring, and ruining her body and devaluing and disrespecting her body.

Her boobs were amazing because they were so big, bouncy, round, full, succulent, soft, smooth, buoyant, and beautiful. they were special because usually women don't have boobs that big. and I've never understood how a teenaged woman could ever want to take away her natural, huge boobs. and I also have never understood how a teenaged girl with huge boobs would ever go that far, getting breast reduction surgery. I've never been able to understand how a teenaged girl with huge boobs could ever be that much against having huge boobs. it's like they think they can't have boobs that size as such a young girl which is stupid and ignorant and unrealistic and nonsensical.

I know that her boobs are her only value or quality that matters because nothing else really sets her apart from all the other young actresses in Hollywood nowadays, nothing else is really special about her. bottom line about this is she's disrespecting God by doing this, she's saying what you created with me is not right and so I'm going to take it away or change it and that's not right. and also when there's real problems that people have she has to bring up this insignificant thing which proves she's a little bitch. and also it proves that she's one of these rich, entitled, narcissistic Hollywood people who only care about vain, materialistic things. but that's what you get with a girl who has been given everything in life she wants her whole life, a rich, spoiled bitch.

I’m not going to keep repeating the facts to you about Eric Garner. You cannot judge whether he was alive or not by watching a video. I’m sorry. I’m also not going to entertain the ludicrous notion that there are more Nazis in America today compared to Nazis Germany or more KKK today than half a century ago. That’s simply not true.

Not to get into the actual accuracy of whether the holocaust was actually “legal” or not; you cannot base the state as a metric for ethics, but you must obey and enforce the laws whether they are ethical or not in a democratic republic. I believe the individual mandate in the Affordable Care Act is the most unethical law created since the Black Codes, yet I must abide by this law either way.

There is no police state in the United States either. People that say that have no idea what a real police state looks like. What we have are laws created and enforced by politicians that are democratically elected. These laws are not arbitrary and therefore must be carried out as written.

I’m not sure if you are a liberal or what, but this is precisely why libertarians are against more laws and more government intervention into our lives. If you are the type of individual that keeps voting in statist politicians like Michael Bloomberg, Bill de Blasio, Barack Obama, etc who encourage creating more laws, more bureaucracy, more illegal executive orders, more government programs, and more taxes, you are creating your own problems. These are the unethical characters that are creating these laws you disagree with. The police are merely enforcing them.

Eric Garner was a victim of a bad law. He chose to break the law and therefore broke his social contract in this civil society. He ended up paying the ultimate price by resisting arrest. That was his choice though. You cannot beg for all this big government intervention and then choose not to obey the ones you personally do not agree with. That’s not how a society works. You cannot have your cake and eat it too. You can have liberty or you can have big controlling government. Which will it be?

The majority of the people of New York City chose Bloomberg to represent their wishes in government and in doing so must accept his terrible nanny state laws. If you want to fix the system, you must keep these liberal politicians out of office and start putting more libertarian or conservative ones in that want to repeal or end big government programs. Otherwise, you’re just going to keep perpetuating this system of your own oppression

I am so ashamed of the double life that I have been living and am grieved for the hurt, pain and disgrace my sin has caused my wife and family, and most of all Jesus and all those who profess faith in Him.

I brought hurt and a reproach to my family, close friends and the fans of our show with my actions that happened when I was 14-15 years old, and now I have re-broken their trust.

The last few years, while publicly stating I was fighting against immorality in our country, I was hiding my own personal failings.

As I am learning the hard way, we have the freedom to choose to our actions, but we do not get to choose our consequences. I deeply regret all hurt I have caused so many by being such a bad example.

I humbly ask for your forgiveness. Please pray for my precious wife Anna and our family during this time.

On Wednesday, Gawker revealed that Duggar, who has actively campaigned that same-sex unions will denigrate the institution of marriage, had two paid accounts seeking extramarital affairs.

Gawker mined the leaked material and discovered that Duggar paid a total of $986.76 for two monthly accounts from February 2013 until May 2015, when molestation allegations became public.

According to data, Duggar was seeking the following activity with a woman who was not his wife:

Top art gallery directors in Russia have denounced vandalism by Orthodox Christian activists who attacked a Moscow art exhibition last week.

In an open letter the gallery chiefs condemned the God's Will group, who damaged sculptures by Soviet-era artist Vadim Sidur on 14 August.
