I Stopped Playing World of Warcraft

Today I said goodbye to my World of Warcraft characters. Probably forever.

It makes me quite sad. I started playing Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games (MMORPGs) in 1998, when my husband introduced me to Ultima Online. That was a fun game... I still remember the music, exploring the world, my cute little character. I had a little house that I decorated. I had a treasure hunter who would get treasure maps, go find the coordinates, and dig up treasure. I had a miner that would go out into the mountains and mine gold and other ores. I had a tailor that would make clothes. I even had a character named Jesus Christ who dressed in robes and was a carpenter.

Then we started playing Dark Age of Camelot when we lived in Italy. Since we lived overseas, we had my mother-in-law pick the game up and ship it to us international express mail so I could get the character names I wanted. We had a great time playing this game as well... most of my Ultima Online friends played this game with me as well.

I was planning on not playing any more MMORPGs after this, until my husband started playing World of Warcraft. I initially didn't play this game, but then he really wanted to play with me so he offered to buy me the game. So I tried it. Again, it was a lot of fun. I loved exploring the world, getting to level 70 with one of my characters, going into the dungeons and getting great armor...

So what made me stop? That darned conscience of mine. The whole witchcraft aspect. In Warcraft they have a Warlock class, who can have a pet known as a succubus... an S&M type demon character that helps fight for you. I never had one of those as I saw the obvious parallels to demons with that one. And I didn't really play a rogue, as I thought it was wrong to play a character that glorifies stealing.

Almost every class involved some sort of magic. Mages cast spells as their main source of damage. Clerics and priests cast both healing and damage spells. Hunters cast trap spells and spells to heal their pets. The warriors didn't really cast any spells, but they would drink potions and use spell scrolls to make themselves stronger.

Then there's the whole killing aspect. You had to kill to get treasure, to gain experience. Most of the creatures that you killed were monstrous, but then you'd go out and kill wolves or bears for some quests as well. That aspect struck me as well.

So I was going to not get involved in any more MMORPGs. But then I thought about the game some more... and I got scared. Could playing this game, knowing that there was witchcraft involved, be seen by God as sinful? Was my refusal to give this up a sin that I was not willing to repent of?

Most Christians know that adultery is a sin. But Jesus says that if you look at someone that you are not married to with lust, that is the same thing as committing adultery. Most Christians also know that witchcraft is a sin. The Bible says:

Now the works of the flesh are clearly revealed, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lustfulness, idolatry, sorcery, hatreds, fightings, jealousies, angers, rivalries, divisions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkennesses, revelings, and things like these; of which I tell you before, as I also said before, that they who do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

King James was no homo. But if you want to find some homos that helped translate the Bible, look no further than the translating committee of the New International Version (NIV). Can you imagine... homosexuals involved with translating the Word of God? Is it any wonder why the word "sodomite" has been completely stricken from the NIV? And go figure, the NIV is by far the most popular Bible in America today amongst pastors and Christian laymen. Sad.

Gravity is observable, testable, repeatable, why don't you show me the "common ancestor" evolving into something?
Atheism is a belief system like any other religion, one cannot prove there is no God, one has faith there isn't.
It is funny how you try to apply the title of 'science' to attack things, though, or how you attempt to lump your religion with real science.

We see the hawthorne fruit fly evolving today. Observed evolution. Where's the evidence for creation?

"200 years ago, the ancestors of apple maggot flies laid their eggs only on hawthorns — but today, these flies lay eggs on hawthorns (which are native to America) and domestic apples (which were introduced to America by immigrants and bred)." Wow, quite the example of evolution - I can barely type I'm laughing so hard!!

Another xtian who doesnt understand evolution. There are MANY types of speciation. But there are 0 forms of creation. The joke's on you, Christian.

A cow never evolved to anything other than a cow, bacteria is always bacteria, jokes on you.

Prove it.

A total lack of proof is all I need to know evolutionism is nothing more than a blind faith religion.

Rush Limbaugh is baffled by evolution.

On his Tuesday show, the right-wing talker claimed that if evolution were real, Harambe, the gorilla that was shot and killed at Cincinnati Zoo after a young boy fell into its enclosure, would have become “one of us.”

“A lot of people think that all of us used to be apes,” the he said according to a transcript on his website and audio posted online by Media Matters.

“Don’t doubt me on this. A lot of people think that all of us used to be gorillas, and they’re looking for the missing link out there. The evolution crowd. They think we were originally apes… If we were the original apes, then how come Harambe is still an ape, and how come he didn’t become one of us?”

Although Limbaugh has never explicitly described himself as a creationist, he does bypass a few facts like the fossil record that supports evolution, and claims that both creationism and evolution are based on faith.

“All I know is I’ve never been a chimpanzee, I don’t believe this garbage I ever was because we were chimpanzee, why are the chimpanzees still here?” Limbaugh asked in 2004. “If we were baboons, you know, if we evolved from that, what happened to them? Why didn’t they evolve? How come they got stuck still being idiot gorillas and stuff and we got to be humans?”

[The FFRF has called for the resignation of a public school principal who regularly preaches Christianity to his students.]

Mountain Dew Fan
Um. All that the atheists are asking is for the principal of a school to OBEY THE LAW OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA! Gee, is that asking too much?

Slidellman4life
What law would that be? I don't recall hearing of a law passed that restricted religious expression. Maybe that's because the Constitution says no.

Mountain Dew Fan
If you actually read the article, the author points out that not only what the principal is doing is illegal and unconstitutional, but the principal actually admitted that he knows what he is doing is "crossing the line", and continues to do it anyway. What he is doing violates the Establishment Clause. Here is a definition of the Establishment Clause from the LegalDictionary website.

Establishment Clause:
A clause in the First Amendment of the United States Constitution that prohibits the government from establishing an official religion, or taking actions that favor one religion over another, or over or a non-religion.

The principal is a representative of the government because he works for a PUBLIC school. So he may not take ANY ACTIONS that favor one religion over another or over a non-religion.

Slidellman4life
I've read the Constitution. The First Amendment says Congress can neither create its own religion nor keep people from practicing theirs. That's it. All of this gobbledygook that you reference isn't in there as it wasn't intended to be, and it sure as hell wasn't meant to be used as a weapon to abridge an individual's right to free speech because of where he works.

Mountain Dew Fan
Well ... no one will ever know what the original intention was. However, the definition which I gave you is the one which the current Supreme Court of the United States currently uses. In fact, there is something called the "Lemon Test", to determine if something the government is doing violates the Establishment clause.

Under the "Lemon" test, government can assist religion only if (1) the primary purpose of the assistance is secular, (2) the assistance must neither promote nor inhibit religion, and (3) there is no excessive entanglement between church and state.

So clearly what this teacher is doing violates number (2) as he is clearly trying to promote religion.

I'm sorry that you do not like the way that the Supreme Court has interpreted the Establishment Clause, perhaps when you become a member of the Supreme Court, you can change it ... until then ... THIS is what the law is, like it or not.

Slidellman4life
1) The "Lemon Test" is unconstitutional and therefore irrelevant.

2) I ignore rulings that are unconstitutional. Whether you like it or not.

If a woman wishes to preserve her right to sexually reject a man at will, she has a perfectly viable means of doing so. Don't get married. It's really not that hard. But, once married, neither husband nor wife has the right to reject the other's marital claims. This does not mean that it is wise for anyone to abuse one's marital rights, as doing so on a regular basis will tend to lead to the legally correct abrogation of those rights. One is always free to respect the other's wishes and refrain from exercising one's rights in the same way that most Americans fail to exercise their right to bear arms most of the time. But failing to exercise one's rights is not the same as failing to possess them.

Men contemplating marriage would be wise to sound out their prospective brides on this issue. If a woman believes in the concept of marital rape, absolutely do not marry her! It would make no sense whatsoever to marry a woman who believes that being married to her grants her husband no more sexual privilege than the next unemployed musician who happens to catch her eye. And if a woman who believes in the existence of marital rape pushes you for marriage, just assure her that while you respect the institution, you believe it is much more important to defend her unqualified right to say no.

That the "marital rape" concept is not only legally oxymoronic, but deeply undesirable for both sexes, is exemplified by its implications for sex that by definition precludes consent. Let's face it, any man or woman who believes in the criminalization of wake-me-up sex is not an individual with whom any decently hedonistic being would want to be saddled for a lifetime.

A test, I'll demonstrate gravity by dropping a bowling ball out of a tenth story window, you demonstrate evolution by standing under it and evolving into something that can withstand the hit.
Atheists don't merely not believe in God, they believe there is no God - a belief that has life directing implications. That is unlike the asinine examples you gave about unicorns. One could also state that believing in God is not a religion as believing that tomato's are a fruit is not a religion.

very good, now test gravitational waves. test a black hole. test dark matter. test human consciousness of a fetus in the womb. cant do it? those are some new religions for you to practice, I guess.
aside from religious texts, there is no evidence of any god existing at all. there is no reason to believe in something that provides no evidence of existing, like unicorns or god (any of them). if any god wants to pop in and throw us critical thnkers a bone, I would be singing a different tune.

Yet you blindly follow evolutionism as it is what you WANT to believe, your religion of choice.
aside from religious texts, there is no evidence of any common ancestor existing at all. there is no reason to believe in something that provides no evidence of existing, like unicorns or Piltdown Man (any of them). There should be thousands of example of hominid remains, yet all we get are fragments of baboons.

blind? no, there is over a hundred years of continuing reasearch and refinement. over a dozen different human ancestors have been discovered, and stories like the one we are commenting on display how science does not make a decision and stick with it despite new findings

i will also acknowledge how the bible continues to change. the laws of leviticus used to be absolute, however now some of them are literal while others are said to be analogies. christianity's willingness to reinterpret it's holy book to fall in line with modern morality is admirable, so i wouldnt call that entirely blind either.

Blind. There is always the fairytales about human ancestors which invariably end up being fabricated BS, and stories how someone points out the emperor has no clothes and it is reluctantly admitted.
BTW, the Bible has nothing to do with the utter pathetic lack of any proof for evolutionism. Nor does the apostate condition of mainstream "Christianity" have anything to do with the Bible.

This is what the Bible thinks about women who sit under the spiritual leadership of women-led ministries >>> "silly women weighed down by the burden of their sins, easily swayed by various lusts, always learning and listening to anybody who will teach them, but never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.”

If your church is headed by a FEMALE Pastor, a Prophetess, a FEMALE Evangelist—and our all time favorite title to laugh at when women call themselves this—an APOSTLE; more than likely you are sitting under a woman that has a divination spirit, a Python spirit, a spirit of the occult, a witch, a pagan goddess.

This is not of God. And explains why women are at their absolute worse right now. It's repugnant to watch, because God is not mocked, and this out-of-order behavior plays out in the lives of the women that follow ministries like this.

If you are a young woman under the age of 30, RUN RUN RUN from churches strictly led by women. They are a death trap. Ministries like this will steal the promises of God for your life.

And then run TO a church that is led by a MAN, a true man of God; that doesn’t bend on the Word for your emotions nor your sexual desires.

Man is the authority that God gave to rule his Kingdom and His Church. Don't be deceived!

These women-led ministries are not only running some serious pimpin' on you, but they are also wasting your youth, damning your soul, and making you a victim for the Devil's amusement.

They play on your broken relationships with men and your strained relationship with your mother. And if you struggle with lesbianism, they hone in on your insecurities about your identity. They ride your emotions (like demonic spirits) promising things are always ABOUT to happen.

The Bible warns us in 2 Timothy 3:1-7

But understand this, that in the last days there will be dangerous times. For people will be lovers of self, narcissistic, self-focused, lovers of money impelled by greed, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy and profane, and they will be unloving devoid of natural human affection, calloused and inhumane, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, devoid of self-control, intemperate, immoral, brutal, haters of good, traitors, reckless, conceited, lovers of sensual pleasure rather than lovers of God, holding to a form of outward godliness, although they have denied its power for their conduct nullifies their claim of faith.

AVOID SUCH PEOPLE AND KEEP FAR AWAY FROM THEM.

For among them are those who worm their way into homes and captivate silly women weighed down by the burden of their sins, easily swayed by various lusts, always learning and listening to anybody who will teach them, but never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.”

Ladies, you have been warned.

I was on a forum having a long discussion about God and the Bible. It was fine until the Holocaust was brought up. I mentioned how God would lift his protection on people if they rejected his ways, theorizing that that's why the Holocaust happened. God lifted his protection, and the devil stepped in to terrorize them as he's done in the past, hence Exodus and Judges. But then this man I spoke with stated that turning away from dead people made God as bad as Hitler.

Angrily, I brought up the book of Revalations and how this guy clearly never read it, and somehow thinks he can judge God when he doesn't know anything about him. Obviously, he was looking for bad points about God instead of trying to learn about it, so I left. But he'll obviously reply, so I don't want to go back. But a part of me keeps wondering.

How do you try to forget about it? He doesn't want knowledge. What do you do in a time like this?

Quote# 119491

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has said he would "cancel" the Paris climate deal in his first major speech on energy policy.

More than 195 countries pledged to reduce carbon emissions in a landmark agreement last year.

The billionaire businessman has said before there is no evidence that humans are responsible for climate change.

He called for more drilling, fewer regulations and the approval of the Keystone XL oil pipeline from Canada.

"Any regulation that's outdated, unnecessary, bad for workers or contrary to the national interest will be scrapped and scrapped completely," Mr Trump said.

"We're going to do all this while taking proper regard for rational environmental concerns."

Donald Trump's desire to see the end of US participation in the Paris climate agreement is increasing the pressure for a rapid ratification around the world.

But that's not easy as the process can often get bogged down in national parliaments. The Obama administration and others believe they are well on the way to securing that level of support which they feel would then make a US withdrawal, in the face of global condemnation, much less likely. But they could be dead wrong about that.

Mr Trump though doesn't have to go to such lengths to end US involvement. He could choose to ignore or reverse or delay Obama's initiatives on climate including the Clean Power Plan. The real strength of the Paris agreement is that it comes from the bottom up, countries decide for themselves what their emissions cutting commitments will be. But this could also be a huge weakness.

If a President Trump doesn't put emissions cutting regulations into place, no one could force him to. Would China or India and others continue to cut their carbon while the US did not? Unlikely.

Before this speech, he had said he would "renegotiate" the global agreement involving nearly all countries, but this time he went further and said the US would pull out.

The climate change deal is "bad for US business" and said the pact allows "foreign bureaucrats control over how much energy we use".

Under the deal, countries set emission limits themselves, not an outside panel.

Mr Trump has called climate change "a hoax" devised by the Chinese government.

It is uncertain whether Mr Trump, if elected, could actually make any changes to the deal.

The accord will have legal force once it is ratified by 55 countries that contribute 55% of global emissions.

If the deal is ratified by January, a new American president would have to wait four years to withdraw from the deal.

While the US is the second-largest greenhouse gas polluter, it has been instrumental in helping other countries such as India reduce emissions.

Mr Trump said on Friday that the US would stop funding these efforts.

Environmental advocates called Mr Trump's proposals "frightening".

"Trump's energy policies would accelerate climate change, protect corporate polluters who profit from poisoning our air and water, and block the transition to clean energy that is necessary to strengthen our economy and protect our climate and health," Tom Steyer, a billionaire environmental activist, told Reuters.

On Thursday, he officially became the presidential nominee for his party, surpassing the 1,238 delegates required.

The education matter is totally different matter.

You never learn so where it comes to pupils who cannot really take things in when taught, it isn't about standards.
You read and write but you cannot take in any other side to an argument or understand the arguments put forward.
No amount of good education can open a permanently closed bias mind.
Re-education cannot remove the prejudices that come from a persons heart. It requires truth and they cannot accept of admit it.

I would see all faith schools abolished except the Christian and Jewish schools.
Because they are basically what our Countries Faith is all about.
I would not allowed any other temples to be built to defile our land with idol and false God worship.
But then I think it doesn't matter eventually Christ will return and even atheists who grit their teeth will realise that it was for nothing that they dissed Jesus and God. Because they were the only persons who really cared and they dissed them.

[Trying to justify the failed biblical prophecy of Tyre being destroyed]

But Isaiah had already prophesied (Is. 23:15) that Tyre would be rebuilt. Therefore, as John Gill comments, this should not be understood as if Tyre would never be completely rebuilt, but it should be understood as not rebuilt in the same grandeur and occupy the same position among the nations.
But there are more layers in this prophesy. Tyre was also destroyed by Alexander. And it was he who destroyed the city completely. And by founding Alexandria he changed the track of commerce forever.

Quote# 119484

I didnt say the difference was big or small, just significant. 5 iq points more on average is not big but significant, and 10% bigger brains is definitely significant, i would even go as far as to call that a big difference. And saying that men are much stronger and faster is not an exaggeration, just fact. That men are more durable is common knowledge, more resistant to pain, thicker skin, while we dont live as long on average a big reason for this is because most men do jobs that require more stress and are more physically demanding, and men use medical care more rarely compared to women. We are also mentally stronger which is easily observed in everyday life and also based on statistics which shows men handle stress better, while women are 3 times as likely to attempt suicide (although men manage to complete the act more often), and are twice as likely to suffer from major depression compared to men. That mens bodies are built sturdier to handle more physical labour is common sense.

And yes, men are much more rational and logical on average, while women are much more emotional. You can find anomalies and outliers, exceptions to the rule etc, but it doesnt change the general pattern of behaviour. Its not just the IQ difference and brain size difference that corresponds to this difference in thinking, its also how our brains are wired, men have more structural connections, while womens neurons are more interconnected all over, which also explains why men can put tasks into "boxes" better and focus on one thing at a time, while women are more prone to think about to many things at the same time at the cost of efficiency.

And again, a few exceptions to the rule is pointless to bring up, we are comparing the genders as a whole and thus we must look at the general patterns, and its fact that men are more likely to take risks and do "dangerous" tasks, while women tend to play it safe far more often. Even in countries where the military draft is optional the vast majority of recruits are men.

Again, im simply saying the fact that men are superior to women overall, based on the characteristics that define male and female in the human species, the things that make our genders different are mostly in advantages for men. This does not mean women deserve to live lesser lifes, but they should realize that equal opportunity is all they should strive for, and they already have that in most western countries. "Equality" or equal outcome will never happen unless society discriminates against men(which it already does in many ways in western society), because of mens natural and biological superiority over women.

The problem with voting in particular though, is as explained earlier, that women have statistically proven higher in-group bias compared to men, meaning that women are more likely to vote for things that benefit them and their gender regardless of other factors, while men tend to be more objective and look at the bigger picture. This means that majority of women will vote for womens benefits regardless of how that affects society at large, the other gender or the economy etc on a whole.

Women are also more likely to be affected by peer pressure, and as shown in the video posted above "why women destroy nations" (which i have seen before it was posted here) women follow social norms to a fault, they abide by it to be accepted by their peers, regardless if it makes sense or not to them personally. Not all of course but its a very obvious general pattern. Its also noticable in the fact that women find men who are "popular" regardless of why, more attractive, ie a man who is already taken is more attractive for that alone because he has social proof, and why status in a man is so important for women, if someone with perceived authority (like the mainstream media, television, movies etc) says something or someone is good/attractive, regardless if it is true or not, women will subconsciously believe it to be true and just the fact that someone is on TV will make that man more attractive to them.

This is a problem when it comes to women and voting, but knowing that not all women are like that (just a large majority) and that there are retarded men out there, combined with the fact that our votes mean very little in the grand scheme and is just used as a smokescreen to make it look like we have a choice and live in a true democracy, means that i care very little about who gets to vote and who doesnt.

If a woman should ever teach a man, they must quote easy and clear verses directly from the bible. This leaves very little room for misinterpretation. Alternatively the women's ideas must be taught by (or came from) a well respected male teachers/pastors/elders, as descried in 1 Timothy 3. These elders must be proven Godly, truly wanting to follow Jesus, by their actions, not merely words.

[...]

So this is not about if man is smarter or woman is smarter. Or which sex is better. Not at all. Because at one point in human history, woman was clearly smarter than man. However being smarter didn't help Eve to make things better didn't it? In fact in her "wisdom" she made it worst. Let Adam also eat so he can die with her! What a loving gesture.

Satan would want you to view it as a problem of gender equality. But this is actually a matter of spiritual warfare, of women being more easily deceived than man. Satan will work extra hard against women. Spiritual warfare have no logic or reason, and wisdom without God doesn't help. This is unseen in this world.

That's why it will be impossible to prove in this world. That a woman can be smarter, better and more experienced yet be more easily deceived by Satan. We cannot logic or reason it. We must, in faith, to take the word of God as it is stated.

This doesn't mean women cannot teach men at all (as we seen in the cases of Mary Magdalene and Deborah). But the bible said what it said about woman being more easily deceived by Satan. Hence we have to be careful.

Church is certainly not the place for that garbage! The angels aren't pimping and jiving to some jungle beat up in Heaven. You won't hear Little Richard gettin' down in glory! I'm sure they'll tone down their music some when they perform in Dallas, but the preceding worldly video of them performing is shameful. That worldly junk doesn't belong in a local New Testament church. What has happened to our churches? I'll tell you . . . As the church becomes more worldly, so also is the world becoming more churchy! It makes God vomit!

It is like we live in a world where homosexuality and every single deviation from what God created to be (deviations such as trans-gender, multiple wives or husbands, bi sexual, pan sexual... which basically means anything goes as long as those involved in it are consenting adults; don't know if this means animals too; don't care and just , gay/lesbian/multi multi partnered homes being portrayed constantly on tv in a positive light where as traditional family, if portrayed at all, is delivered to us in a negative way). It goes on and on.

The absolute worst part about it, how it is celebrated by most everyone. If a word of disapproval spoken at all... the person voicing this disapproval of such acts is called every name in the book and deemed a hateful racist. If a person tries to celebrate their own traditional values they are immediately condemned and labeled as hateful and racist. Anything moral and as God intended = hateful and racist.

Yes, it is worse when same people doing these things, celebrating these things, claim to be Christian. Like you, I pray for them. I don't understand how they can reconcile that they live such an openly sinful lifestyle and at the same time call themselves children of Christ.

I do understand Christians who struggle with sin. I am one of them. The difference, we don't call it "right". So, if a true Christian struggles with alcoholism, with anger issues, with selfishness, with homosexuality; all those things we recognize as what they are.... WRONG. We mess up and we do wrong things. But we try not to. When we have done wrong, we repent; verses calling our sin good and celebrating it. We are certainly not proud of the wrong we do.

As time moves on, everything that is anti-God, celebrated more and more. Anything traditional, moral, stated as 'good' in the Bible, anything having to do with Christ, with God.... immediately condemned by society. Currently, Christians are openly discriminated against (not so much our basic rights, but with negative words such as hateful and racist). God, and Christ, still factor into society enough so that there are people out there who, I guess they care enough to lie to themselves. Maybe they really do believe in God but haven't truly accepted Jesus into their heart, or maybe they are simply afraid of death and so it comforts them to "say" they are Christian as they run around committing every sin they can possibly fathom. Or maybe these people know exactly what they are doing and are trying to destroy the last vestiges of what is left of Christianity in this nation.

It'll eventually get to the point to where Christianity is illegal, and considered akin to the word 'terrorist'. That is where we are headed. The farther this nation gets from God, the more depravity we see, the more violence we see. This nation is barely recognizable to me anymore. It's sad when the average 2 year old already knows the definition of the words 'gay' and 'straight'. I had no clue at that age. But they put this stuff in movies for children, in toddler learning programs, in cartoons. And if the little ones don't hear about it that way, they hear about it at day care and at preschool when the teacher reads them books everyday about Janie having 2 mommies and when it comes time to go to the bathroom the toddlers are even more confused because suddenly they are told they are no longer a 'boy' or a 'girl' and what bathroom would they like to use today/would they like to be a boy or a girl today?

Sodom and Gomorrah was so bad off that groups of homosexual men were banging on Lot's door demanding to rape an angel. I don't know what else went on in that place, but truly I can't imagine it being much worse than it currently is here in the USA. There's not much more 'taboo' left to declassify from the category called WRONG. There is not a lot left in that category. Even murdering babies is permissible. (Personally, that is the thing that gets to me MOST.)

Today's generation, those that are currently babies, I don't see them getting to be my age. I think for sure God will come before then. Because with each successive generation, due to society teaching people within it to celebrate and aspire to what is... no disputing it... SIN; each successive generation gets worse and worse. I pray for them as it is so much more difficult for them than it was for us. At least we were taught these things were wrong when we were babies. For them, they are not taught basic morals and values. I would imagine that God will consider this when they stand before Him and He judges them.

A vegan cafe in the centre of Tbilisi was shocked to find itself the subject of far-right ire after a group arrived and threw meat on patrons’ plates, leading to a public brawl.

Customers said a group entered the cafe wearing sausages around their necks and carrying slabs of meat on skewers, before attacking customers and staff.

Witnesses described the attackers as “far-right extremists”, and said the clash spilled onto the street outside after the attackers were asked to leave. Minor injuries were reported but the perpetrators fled before police arrived.

A statement issued on Facebook by the Kiwi Cafe on Monday described the incident as “an anti-vegan provocative action” accusing the attackers of being “neo-Nazis” who support “fascist ideas”.

According to the statement, the attackers “pulled out grilled meat, sausages, and fish and started eating them and throwing them at us... they were just trying to provoke our friends and disrespect us.”

The statement also alleged that memberes of group had come to the neighbourhood a month earlier and asked a nearby shopkeeper whether foreigners or members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) community frequented the cafe.

Launched a year ago, the cafe has become a popular meeting place for foreigners and had been showing English-language episodes of the animated sci-fi sitcom Rick And Morty when the violence broke out.

Quote# 119471

Who needs God? You do. You need Him desperately, in fact, and you are totally dependent on Him for all things. This is how God locks you into a maddening bind: you depend on Him, yet you hate Him because He’s condemning you for who you naturally are. You can’t really separate yourself from Him, and yet the negative judgments He’s making about you cause you to be both afraid and angry. And by the way, it was God who created you to have all of the qualities that He is now condemning. In other words, He intentionally set you up to fail. And this is the God who claims to be good in Character? You’re not buying it.

Quote# 119470

Whenever we discuss God’s moral code on a subject like sexual orientation, invariably there is a crop of gays who react with intense anger. They don’t actually read everything we say—all they hear is that God says homosexuality is wrong. Why does this freak them out so much? Because they’re gay and they can’t help it. They’re feeling condemned by their Creator for something that is wired in, and naturally that results in intense feelings of helplessness and fear.

Well, if the straights were paying more attention, they would be feeling the same panic that gays do, because homosexuality is just one of many internal qualities that God says are wrong. God says being prideful is wrong. You’re prideful. God says lust is wrong. You lust. God says envying is wrong. You envy. God says that being sinful is wrong. You’re sinful.

See, gays aren’t worse than anyone else. Neither are pedophiles or murderers or addicts or liars or lusters. Whenever you find yourself flipping out over someone talking about God’s moral code, stop and think about why you’re so upset. You’ll find that often the real problem is that you feel hopeless about ever pleasing God because whatever issue is being discussed is something that you can’t change. God says looking at porn is wrong. If you’re a porn addict, this feels like a hopeless message, because you can’t just kick your habit. You’re addicted. Addictions feel impossible to beat—that’s why they’re called addictions. Or maybe you crave sex with kids. You can’t help this—it’s wired in. But God says pedophilia is wrong. Well, rats, where does that leave you? Well, look around you: we’re all in the same mess. None of us are better than you—some of us are just pretending that we are because we’re ignoring most of God’s moral code. But if we were all to sit down and take an honest look at all of the things God says are wrong, then we’d all be forced to conclude that it is absolutely impossible for us to be sinless. And if we can’t be sinless, and God says He hates sin, then where is the hope?

Here’s where we get to the good news: God says that while He hates sin, He loves sinners. He says that being sinless is not a requirement for pleasing Him. But He does require submission from us, and that means that we need to align with His standards.

Quote# 119469

First God creates us to be what He says is wrong. That makes us mad. But then He makes it so we’re totally dependent on Him to sustain our existence, thus we can’t ever get away from Him. That makes us more mad. Then God is infinitely stronger than we are, and He says that if we don’t submit to Him, He’ll chuck us into Hell and torture us forever. That makes us furious—but it also scares us. Being scared of God’s immense power is called reverence, and reverence is a good thing. It is our fear of God that finally motivates us to submit to Him even when we hate what He’s saying.

(The article's writer mocks Ricky Jervais' reaction to Harambe's death due to him being an atheist, then proceeds to quote the Genesis on why Harambe deserved to die)

Ricky Gervais: It seems that some gorillas make better parents than some people

Ah yes. Ricky Gervais. An avowed atheist whose main goal in life seems to be to insult people of faith in such a profound way that he hopes to shame them into abandoning their beliefs. In a way, he’s an atheist evangelist. It isn’t enough for him that he has no profound belief system rooted in ethical monotheism, no, he won’t rest until you follow him into the abyss of non-belief.

So, given that background, it’s no surprise he makes the morally bankrupt comparison between a gorilla as a “parent” and a human being. Gervais is not familiar with Genesis 1:26.

In fact, the idea that man, created in God’s image, shall have dominion over the other animals, appears to be the missing moral idea that links all these rants together. And what does that tell us about the ranters?

Quote# 119465

By your own admission, you have no scientific or logical refutation for the fact that the uterus exists for the child.
"so precedence is relevant,"
Not anymore than it was for the abolition of other human rights abuses. legality does not equate to morality, and saying it does puts you on the wrong side of racial slavery as well.
"Nobody else gets a claim over any part of another persons body."
That assertion was previously refuted. Your repeating it does not make your argument any better. Bodily autonomy always has its limits, and certainly does not include the intentional killing of another human.
"Abortion is literally the termination of a pregnancy."
False. All pregnancies terminate - some with dead babies, some with living ones. By your faux definition, your childbirth was an abortion. Please think before you post. Abortion is the intentional killing of a human being - one who has committed no crime. that is what was legalized in Roe and Doe.
"You claim that it's an exception because it's an active killing"\
Not an exception. A logically different situation - one you have failed at showing its equivalence. The uterus exists for the child.
"So?"
So, has it really never occurred to you that it is the height of moral hypocrisy for you having been granted the right to survive the womb while denying that same right to 60 million more?!?
Were you the type of child who slammed the door behind you so that whoever was chasing you would run into it?
Have you considered the very real possibility that you are on the wrong side of the worst human rights atrocity in the history of the world?
How would you handle the following argument?:
1. Humans have intrinsic moral value. (basic morality)
2. What is located in the human womb, post-conception, is a human. (settled science)
3. Therefore, abortion kills a human with intrinsic moral value - one who is guilty of no crime.
The only difference between a human inside of the womb and one outside of it is size, level of development, environment, and degree of dependency. And each one of those factors, if used to argue for abortion, could be also used as a reason for killing a child OUTSIDE of the womb. In abortion clinics all across America today, nearly 3000 humans with intrinsic moral value – guilty of no crime but their mere existence – are being led to their deaths, and gruesome ones at that.

Obama’s shameful apology tour lands in Hiroshima.

An American president’s highest moral, constitutional and political duty is protecting his fellow citizens from foreign threats. Presidents should adhere to our values and the Constitution, and not treat America’s enemies as morally equivalent to us.

If they do, they need not apologize to anyone.

The White House says that President Obama won’t apologize as he visits Hiroshima Friday. But who believes his press flacks?

His penchant for apologizing is central to his legacy. He may not often say “I apologize” explicitly, but his meaning is always clear, especially since he often bends his knee overseas, where he knows the foreign audiences will get his meaning. It is, in fact, Obama’s subtlety that makes his effort to reduce America’s influence in the world so dangerous.

He started in Cairo in 2009, referring to the “fear and anger” that the 9/11 attacks provoked in Americans, saying that, “in some cases, it led us to act contrary to our traditions and our ideals.” He later said, “Unfortunately, faced with an uncertain threat, our government made a series of hasty decisions . . . based on fear rather than foresight” — a characterization Americans overwhelmingly reject.

In Europe, saved three times by America in the last century, Obama apologized because “there have been times where America has shown arrogance and been dismissive, even derisive.” And in this hemisphere, Obama said, “We have at times been disengaged, and at times we sought to dictate our terms,” culminating in his recent fawning visits with the Castros in Cuba.

The list goes on and on.

...

Obama’s apologies and gestures prove yet again, in his words, that he isn’t like those other presidents on our currency. And Friday, in Hiroshima, Obama may prove conclusively that, on national security, he’s no Franklin Roosevelt or Harry Truman.

Obama’s narcissism, his zeal for photo opportunities with him at the center, whether in Havana or Hiroshima, too often overcomes lesser concerns — like the best interests of the country. He puts his vanity before our nation’s pride.

Quote# 119463

Jesus, when He walked the Earth in the flesh, didn't fall prey to Satan's attempts to bribe Him with earthly power when the devil offered Him all of the world's kingdoms.

"Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve" (Matt. 4: 8-10).

Jesus didn't correct the evil one by telling him that the kingdoms of this world were not his to offer. That is because Satan indeed is allowed for the present time to control, to a great extent, the political realm of this fallen planet.

The fact that the God of all creation would not even consider such an offer of earthly power makes it more than certain that He would not lower himself to participate in a humanistic election.

The answer to the question posed by the title of this article is, "No, Jesus would not vote Republican." He would not vote, period!

Jesus would, however, offer very pointed advice on issues to those who do participate in the election process. He would enunciate the godly principles underlying the issues upon which the voters must decide. As a matter of fact, He did just that.

Jesus is the Living Word of God (John 1: 1). God's love letter to mankind is given through His blessed Son, Jesus Christ. The Bible gives us God's precise rules for conducting all areas of our life--including our participation in the political process.

Human beings must, in the final analysis, vote upon the issues of life that will determine how we will be served by human government. Departure from wise, godly principles delineated in the Bible invites the sort of confused and debased culture in which we are mired today. Such foolish decision-making ultimately brings foolish, even debased, perverted leadership, and even devilish tyranny.

Quote# 119462

When it comes to Christians determining whom will get their vote, many base their decision on the candidate who offers them the greater financial reward. It doesn't matter if a Democrat has a poor record on moral issues. Many believers apparently think nothing of putting their pocket book ahead of their faith.

All disciples of Christ need to realize that some political issues should take priority over all other concerns. If a white supremacist group formed a national political party, it would be foolhardy for people to support that party based upon the fact they like the white supremacists' health care platform.

It was this type of narrow-minded thinking that got Adolf Hitler elected to office. Most citizens of Germany knew full well that the Nazis were brutalizing the Jews, but those citizens were mesmerized by utopian propaganda Hitler and his henchman were preaching.

Because we all will have to give an account of our lives, it is very important to realize the choices we make in the privacy of a voting booth will someday need to be defended before the open throne of God.

All end-time minded Christians should know that at some point freedom and liberty will be surrendered to a global government.

The Bible tells us the God of this world is the devil. The influence of Satan is the reason 90 percent of the press and Hollywood elite are liberals who vote exclusively for the Democratic Party. The one-minded eagerness of the left to influence the electoral process should act as a warning sign to the conservative base of this nation.

You can be a perfectionist and find a hundred things wrong with the Republicans. It is serious error to try compare a floundering friend to a deadly enemy.

Human government never will be able to solve the world's problems. There never will be true peace until the Prince of Peace establishes His Millennial Kingdom. That understood, until the Lord Jesus comes for His Church in the rapture -- presuming both major political parties in America continue to hold to their present party lines -- it is the view of Rapture Ready that Republican values are America's best political option.
