For me, it was hearing a talk by a creationist just after I'd graduated from university. He said something about how genetic information gets worse overtime with mutations. Somehow this made everything click. I feel that I'd known all of the pieces already and just needed someone to show me the whole picture. I knew that you can't have complex things arising by chance (and natural selection) from simpler things - that just doesn't work. I didn't know much about DNA at that point, but I did know that mutations were random things, not something intentional like editing a book to fix mistakes and make it better.

Mutations would mean that genetic diseases are increasing, and fit exactly with the idea that as one goes back in time the genome would be more and more perfect: just what Genesis says. God created Adam and Eve perfectly and because of their perfect genomes they lived a long time, even after sin and death entered the world. Everything fit and I could discard evolution. The Christian world view already explained life far better than any other one I'd encountered, and now it worked with our origins too (on a scientific basis). [Kind of coming back full circle since the Christian world view is one of the things that started science in the first place, although it's getting harder and harder to find people who say this due to the political correctness and revisionist history that our society embraces so much. What would be so bad about admitting that the Christian world view was a necessary prerequisite for science to be born?]

This "already knowing something, but not seeing it clearly" also happened to me about 5 years ago with pacifism. I knew all of the pieces, but I wasn't really sure about how wrong it would be to be in the military as a Christian, how wrong it would be to kill others to protect one's tribe/country/economic interests/freedom. I had some inklings and ideas, but it was a sermon that I heard about pacifism that put it all together with the nature and character of Jesus. Suddenly everything clicked and I saw the world in a new way -- but, on the other hand, I'd always known this, I already knew all the pieces, I just didn't see how they all worked together. It's a fascinating experience.

You're forgetting the fact that it was prophesied that people will mock God in the final days before He returns to prove them all wrong. The root cause of the problem is that atheists, throughout the centuries, have sought to substantiate Atheism through many means, but were always unsuccesful until Darwin's theory came about. As Dawkins wrote on page 10 of the blind watchmaker: "Darwin made it possible to be an intellectually fulfilled atheist." The problem isn't creationism; sure, creationists help keep the divide alive, but the divide itself was created by those who oppose the existence of God. Creationists are simply those who are still fighting the good fight where truth of God matters more than abandoning it to conform to the majority opinion (of the deceived).

People have appealed to science to oppose religion for the longest time. Creationism, as a concept, has also been around for a very long time. In fact, even the concept of evolution is just an ancient pagan argument placed in a modern jacket. There are ancient writings from early Christians who refuted these exact ideas way back in their time. For example, Theophilus of Antioch already stated that those who believed that we come from the stars are fools.
It's true that many scientists were religious until the last century. That changed because of Darwinism and the philosophy of reason (Reason was deified before atheism could be sustained through Darwinism).

Nowaday it's considered to be bad for your career to be religious, because people judge you as gullible and stupid, and that is not the fault of creationists. In the eyes of many, any form of belief apart from materialism is superstition. So the root cause once more isn't the creationists. The real problem is the belief that every smart person should be above religious conviction. It has nothing to do with creationists. For example, people love Jordan Peterson, and most of his videos feature at least one top comment from a guy stating something along the lines of, "I love that he is so intelligent, but how does he not apply his immense wisdom to religion and reject it?", which already reveals the notion that many people have about religion being something that no smart person should engage in.

You've been deceived into thinking that science is objective. After all, how can science be objective if it is an attempt to confirm the preconceived notion of naturalism. Creationists should be honored; not blamed and insulted. If you want to engage me, then I can also point out why the pseudoscience that Creationists oppose is really far-fetched and merely an attempt to sustain scientific atheism. Evolution is a fairy tale. Creationists are simply blamed by other Christians who, in fulfillment of 2nd Timothy chapter 3, want to appease others because they've succumbed to social pressure.

Have we ever been able to change the fundamental nature of bacteria? No matter what we do bugs stay bugs. They can change a little bit here and there but we have never gotten anywhere close to a complete transformation from bacteria to something else. We have never in any way been able to examine the central Darwinian evolutionary claim that natural selection and random variation can account for a great deal of complexity.

There is no demonstration available to prove that this mechanism; natural selection, random variation, is adequate to explain the current level of complexity that exists. From the point of view of serious science, without that kind of a demonstration you really have no idea if the mechanism is adequate for its intended purpose.

There is a striking lack of laboratory evidence to back up Darwinian evolution. We should have far more plasticity, far more flexibility under laboratory conditions than we actually do if Darwinian theory or anything like that were correct. What is seen in nature and in the laboratory is very highly bound variations. For example finch beaks in the Galapagos, we really do not see much beyond that. Why is that if Darwinian theory is correct?

I honestly do not understand atheists! They find it easier to believe that the world was made out of nothing randomly and we evolved from monkeys rather than a being (God) perfectly creating everything. You will find most if not all atheists have had something bad happen to them and relate it to religion e.g. if there is a God why did my friend die of cancer. I used to face this all the time when I was younger but now I'm older and have more knowledge of the bible I clearly see their arguments have no substance.

The main problem you have between atheists and Christians is that we work in different dimensions. All atheists see is human logic (even though in my opinion evolution is not even logical on a human level), Christians, however, work in the spiritual dimension which is very hard to explain to someone who is only blinkered to human logic. Human logic no matter how smart you are is stupid compared to Gods logic. You are on the right path, carry on reading your Bible and praying (pray every day in tongues too)

Cub Scout kicked out after asking lawmaker about gun control

By COLLEEN SLEVIN
Associated Press

DENVER (AP) - A Cub Scout was kicked out of his den after he questioned a Colorado state lawmaker about her position on gun control and previous comments she made about African-Americans' health and eating fried chicken.

It was the latest political flashpoint for the Boy Scouts after President Donald Trump used his speech at the organization's national jamboree in July to rail against "fake news" and former President Barack Obama and boast about beating Hillary Clinton.

Eleven-year-old Ames Mayfield posed the questions at an Oct. 9 event in Broomfield, between Denver and Boulder. Cub Scouts had been told to come prepared to talk to Republican state Sen. Vicki Marble about issues important to them.

Ames' mother, Lori Mayfield, said a local scout leader later told her that the topic of gun control was inappropriate because of its political nature and that the boy's questions were disrespectful.

The Boy Scouts, which includes the Cub Scouts, refused to comment on why the boy was asked to leave but say he will remain in scouting after finding a new group.

"The Boy Scouts of America is a wholly nonpartisan organization and does not promote any one political position, candidate or philosophy," the organization said Friday in a statement.

Cub Scouts is for children in the first through fifth grades. They meet in groups of children from the same grade called "dens," which are part of larger "packs."

Ames was only kicked out of his den, not the larger pack. Since the other available den met while he attends classes, changing to another den within the pack was not an option. He's joining a den in a new pack at his church, his mother said.

The leaders of the group that kicked Ames out did not return phone messages and emails left by The Associated Press.

In online videos recorded by Lori Mayfield, the scouts asked questions about why people wanted to vote for Obama just because he was black and about Trump's proposed wall along the U.S.-Mexico border. It was unclear which scouts asked the questions. Mayfield blurred the identities of all the children except for that of her son.

In the video showing Ames asking about gun control, he read from a printed sheet, telling the lawmaker that he was shocked that she sponsored a bill that allowed domestic violence offenders to own guns. He also rattled off a list of survey statistics about Americans' views on the issue and spoke about the trouble Las Vegas shooting victims would have paying their bills.

"There is something wrong in our country where Republicans believe it's a right to own a gun but a privilege to have health care. None of that makes sense to me," he said.

After nearly 2½ minutes, an adult is heard cutting him off, remarking on his thorough question. Marble responds by talking about the need for "crime control" instead and saying that the Vegas shooting and the 2012 Aurora theater shooting both happened in "gun-free zones."

Marble drew national attention in 2013 after she seemed to draw a link between the health of black people and eating fried chicken and barbecue in comments made during a legislative committee hearing. The head of the state Republican Party and others criticized her words.

She then issued a statement saying she was saddened that her comments were interpreted as disparaging.

During the scout meeting, Ames told Marble that he was "astonished that you blamed black people" for their health problems.

She replied, "I didn't. That was made up by the media. So you want to believe it, you believe it, but that's not how it went down."

Marble went on to say Americans enjoy multicultural food but cautioned that people also need to consider whether they are predisposed to any diseases because of their genetic makeup.

In a statement Friday, Marble said she did not know about Ames' dismissal until she read about it. She said she did not blame him because she thought there was an "element of manipulation involved" by his mother.

Mayfield denies that. She said she and her son, whom she said is gifted and likes to watch the news, researched Marble together, and she typed up his questions using his words. The mother questioned why the Scouts would chose to invite such a controversial lawmaker to speak.

The Boy Scouts and their Denver-area governing council said they were "pleased that the family will continue their participation in scouting," the statement said. "We are committed to working with families to find local units that best fit their needs."

Feds OK plan to leave slick of polluted coal tar in SC river

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) - Federal authorities have approved a plan to allow S.C. Electric and Gas to leave a slick of polluted coal tar in the Congaree River rather than cleaning it up.

The Sun News of Myrtle Beach reports the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers approved a permit Wednesday allowing the power company to cover the toxin-tainted coal tar with stones or other material to hold it in place.

The company backed away from a plan to dig up the coal tar and haul it away because of expense.

Congaree Riverkeeper Bill Stangler says his group is considering legal challenges to the Corps' decision. State regulators say the coal tar hasn't hurt water quality, although testing has been limited. Stangler's full statement released on Friday reads:

"This will not protect the Congaree River or the people who use it, and it is a far cry from SCE&G’s promise to do right by the river. We believe SCE&G can do better, and should do better. No one from SCE&G has ever explained to us why they have backed away from their assurances of a full cleanup.”

The Corps approved the plan Wednesday and made it public Friday.

OTOH, Calexit is an excellent opportunity to mobilize, invade, and crush California, as well as to use about 20 million adult lefties as slave labor until they die of it.

When only the highest cost least efficient power generation is insisted upon it can only be because a solution to the problem put forward is not wanted. Protection and propagation of the problem is the goal, solving it eliminates the ‘problem’ and political army that rely on it for their very existence.

Indeed. This is so reminiscent of the early 1980s and the run-off of the “Ozone Hole” WE ARE ALL GOING TO DIE crisis.

Recall then that after years of nonsense hyperbole about manmade CFCs causing the “Ozone Hole” (a cyclical phenomenon, as suggested by anecdotal evidence going back to 16th and 17th Century Spanish colonial accounts of unexplained blindness occurring in Chilean sheep flocks), the purveyors of the meme started to declare victory. They did so, because (what do you know) the Ozone Hole started miraculously to close!! All because CFCs were removed from circulation….riiight.

Gradually more and more nonsense statistics and flashy graphics were circulated through the Media, and more and more preening of various academics (who had made entire careers out of the utter BS of the “Ozone Scare”) started to occur. Then, after a few years and entirely without fanfare, the meme was dropped.

The same thing is starting now in CAGW. The cyclical top has arrived and probably passed. There is nothing any “climate scientist” can do to perpetuate the gravy train of WE ARE ALL GOING TO DIE so ably publicized by Gore. The global climate will cool, perfectly naturally, for the foreseeable future – so the CAGW Brigade has decided it is going to declare victory while it can…See, we cut CO2 and voila. Success….!!

This way at least when (or if) societies in the Europe and North America in particular wake up to the fact they are vastly under-prepared for a cooler climate phase (not least because of the damage done by anti-CO2 emission policies to power generation capacity for national grids), the CAGW Brigade will be long gone from public memory; and will in any event be able to say it’s not their fault, victory was declared years ago and we cannot be blamed if governments didn’t prepare for the cold since then….

Watch. Just watch.

In the fine print (that CNN doesn't talk about) every single one of these climate treaties is nothing more than a massive cash grab funded by the United States, either through direct monetary loans (to pay for the rising sea levels "we" caused), purchasing "carbon credits" from Africans living in mud huts, or by hobbling our economy by complying with rules that only apply to us so that the rest of global manufacturing can catch up.

Either way, these agreements have zip to do with solving made-up climate "crises" and everything to do with transferring wealth from the United States to the rest of the world.

Creationism is still taught in dozens of faith schools despite Government threats to withdraw their funding, the Telegraph can disclose. Last August Education Secretary Nicky Morgan said schools found teaching creationism as scientific fact would not be eligible for any money from the taxpayer. Yet a series of Freedom of Information (FOI) requests show that 54 private schools are still being funded by local authorities, while continuing to teach that the Earth began with Adam and Eve.

Only 14 of the 91 schools teaching creationism have had their funding withdrawn, an investigation by the British Humanist Association revealed. The campaign group also found that some faith schools' science departments were teaching pupils to identify what happened on each of the days of the creation. The curriculum of one group of religious schools reads: "Creation stories give a holistic image of the origins of the earth, plants, animals and human beings." In another, it says that 'The Darwinian mechanism delivers clarifying power within a certain range of phenomena, but it is rooted in reductionist thinking and Victorian ethics and young people need to emerge from school with a clear sense of its limits.'

Separately, the Christian Schools Trust's current guidance to their schools says: "Young children within the schools would learn from the start of their schooling that they are created beings, that they are very valuable to God and that they are made in His image. "They would be taught that He is the Creator of all things, including all living things, and that He has designed this Earth to be their home. They would also learn that creation was originally good but that it is now flawed as a consequence of sin introduced into the human race by Adam and Eve." The BHA investigation also found five schools under the US firm Accelerated Christian Education (ACE) are also teaching creationism as science.

In the past, ACE has allegedly used the Loch Ness monster to discredit evolutionary theories, according to the BHA. Its content reads: "Some scientists speculate that Noah took small or baby dinosaurs on the Ark. Are dinosaurs still alive today? With some recent photographs and testimonies of those who claimed to have seen one, scientists are becoming more convinced of their existence. "Have you heard of the 'Loch Ness Monster' in Scotland? 'Nessie', for short, has been recorded on sonar from a small submarine, described by eyewitnesses, and photographed by others. Nessie appears to be a plesiosaur."

The group has explicitly discredited evolution in its various textbooks, according to the BHA. Another excerpt reads: "No branch of true science would make these kind of impossible claims without proof. "Because evolutionists do not want to believe the only alternative - that the universe was created by God - they declare evolution is a fact and believe its impossible claims without any scientific proof." Responding to the FOIs, Hackney council said it has informed schools about the rules introduced last August.

However, it added: "The Local Authority has not had correspondence with the schools" on a list of 21 schools the BHA identified as receiving state funding despite not complying with the guidance. Commenting on these latest findings, BHA director of public affairs and campaigns, Pavan Dhaliwal, said: "We congratulated the government last summer when it changed the rules on nursery place funding to this effect. "It is hugely disappointing therefore to discover that creationist schools have continued to receive state funds since the ban on their doing so came into force. "Little seems to have been done to ensure conformity to the new rules and the Department for Education (DfE) urgently needs to address this.

"The funding is administered by local authorities and they do not seem to have the same awareness as the DfE as to which local authorities are implicated by such a ban. "As we have done in the past, we will be doing all we can to raise the issue with relevant officials to ensure that the ban on funding is properly implemented."

Good question, which was covered in an Islamic parenting lecture I attended a while back. Insha'Allah my notes from this below will be of some assistance.

The basic principle is that we must never ever forget that the vast majority of the disbelievers have at least been made aware of Islam but have decided for whatever reason to reject it (although there will always be some that have not yet been told about Islam). By rejecting Islam they have chosen a path that, if not rectified, will lead to a very difficult time on the Day of Judgement, as set out in the Qu'ran.

They do not share our beliefs, such as the oneness of God and the supremecy of His laws, which makes us very different to them, and so we should teach our kids never ever invest any trust in them.

However, although they may even be hostile to Islam, each and every one of them is a potential revert insha'Allah (I fitted that description myself alhumdulillah), therefore we should try to represent our religion favourably, through our good manners, kindness, humility and peacefulness. We should teach our kids not dislike the disbelievers, rather, we should dislike their disbelief.

On a practical level, we must teach them to keep interactions businesslike and avoid close friendships. Things like laughing, joking, idle chit chat and gossip should be avoided, and of course inappropriate gender interaction is a big no-no and should be disciplined. But telling the disbelievers about Islam is incumbent upon all Muslims and should be a big focal point of our lives.

The Islamic dress code plays an important part in all this by identifying ourselves as Muslims, setting out a sort of barrier that lets them know we are different and that our priority is obedience to Allah subhanahu wa ta'alaa rather than consumerism or whatever moral code they follow. Therefore, introduce hijab at a young age, insist on Sunnah clothing and, as in all matters, set a good example yourself.

Always encourage children to keep the company of good young Muslim kids and constantly remind them to be aware of our very different beliefs. If you feel at all uncomfortable about relations that have developed with non-believing kids then insist that they are cut off - don't accept any whining about this. Only if you feel that they are open to Islam should you let relationships get a bit closer, for example by inviting them into your home.

Never ever forget the differences that exist and the dangers of falling into their corrupted way of thinking.

Insha'Allah this is of some help.
